Random Thoughts and Questions
If you are a friend of mine on Facebook then you may have noticed that I have a tendency to post some pretty random things. Some of my favorite postings have been:
Does anyone keep the extra button that come with the shirt when you buy it?
or
Do you open up and smell the fabric softener before putting it in your cart?
One question that I have always wondered is…do you have a shower routine and what is the last thing you do before getting out of the shower? For whatever reason the very last thing I do before shutting off the water is wash my hands! Every single time I do it. So weird!
For pure entertainment purposes (and in the interest of thought provoking reading) I want to know your random thoughts and questions. What is something you have always thought about but never really bothered to ask? Post those thoughts and questions here!

Helllo Kristin,
I just had a question for ya! I am overweight and have been overweight my whole like and have to do something about it to get this weight off. I recently got engaged on October 2, 2009, and we’re going to be getting married in two years. I am really hoping to be thinner and healthier by the time I get married, I know that I can do this but was wondering how did you get started and how did you say no to all the “good” food that you used to eat!? I find myself doing okay eating healthy until I see something that I really like then ill just pig out on it! Please give me all the advice you can…it will be greatly appreciated as i’m hoping to be able to buy the wedding dress that will fit my body perfect and not have to worry about my “rolls” Hope to hear from ya soon!
Thank you,
Desiree

That’s definitely interesting about washing your hands in the shower! I don’t have a routine in the shower but in the mornings when I have to work I’d take a shower & put make up on then go back to bed for 10-15 minutes then dry my hair and get dressed. Even 3 minutes of extra sleep is amazing for me!

hahahahahaha….you don’t understand, I own a book called, “The Book of Questions,” which is seriously one of the best conversational books EVER! I use it on road trips, with new friends, at work…love, love, love that book. I used to have a email group listing that went out daily at work with the “Question of the Day!” Started some of the most unique, interesting and thought provoking conversations and even relationships.
1. Do you have any OCD behaviors? (I have to sleep with my bedroom door locked, closet door shut, bathroom door shut, feet completely under the covers, HAS to be a cover, cannot just be a sheet. Weird, yes I know! Been like that since I was a kid though.)
2. Do you hold your stomach in when you are around attractive or intimidating people?
3. If a customer says something hilariously nonsensical , are you able to keep a straight face or do you snicker?
4. Do you prejudge people based on their zip code (city)?
5. If someone has a tendency to repeat themselves often, do you cut them off in the middle of conversation or allow them to keep talking?
6. Do you ever let the phone keep ringing just so you can listen/dance to your ringtone? (I DO! hahaha)

Oh Mesha and her great book of questions. We went through half that book going to wisconsin!
I got one…..Do you seperate your clothes before you wash them?

I have that book too, Mesha!
My random thought:
I HATE MOUTH NOISES. People can be nice as can be, but if I hear them smacking or chewing ice (ask my husband about that habit of his), or if they make spitty mouth noises when they talk, or if they are a loud kisser…I want to punch them.
Violent, huh?
I just had someone come in my office who made mouth noises. It made me cringe.

I got one too… Do you smell the clean laundry as your folding it? I for some odd reason do…

I do things in the same order every time I shower - shampoo hair, condition hair, shave, wash, rinse hair, scrub feet. I have a lot of OCD tendencies so a lot of the things I do, I do a certain way in a certain order.
There are people I see all the time in the city who I don’t actually know, but still recognize if I see out. Like subway-guy-with-the-weird-facial-hair, I’ve noticed at a bar weeks later. I wonder if anyone/who notices me like that too and just if others remember that much about others in general…

LOL! I wash my hands, too, before getting out of the shower. I do keep those buttons that are extra, but I would never be able to find the exact one if I ever really needed it. One habit I have actually started when I had our first baby: I always shut the lid on the toilets. I read babies and kids can actually drown in the toilet and that is horrible. So, even though they are all over the age of 3, I still shut the toilets and the bathrooms doors when I go to bed. Funny that these things become habit and make you feel better. Most of the odd things I do are due to my kids.

I smell milk before I drink it… even if I just bought it. I like to bag my own groceries so I can bag them in “like categories”. I also try to save the boxes for the bags of loose stuff like yogurt… to give more structure to the bag… like building a wall. Oh there are so many.

The answer to all your questions, Kristin, is yes. Yes, I keep the extra button; yes, I open and smell the fabric softener before I put it on my cart; yes, I have a shower routine (hair, face, body, and every Friday I exfoliate my face); and yes, I do smell my laundry as I fold it. It’s the little things, like smelling clean laundry, that add a little happy to the day.

LOL!!
Kristin!
I looove the shower question. I totally love that you wash your hands, that is hilarious! I never realized it, but I totally do the same ending again and again. I have a hand-held shower head and rinse myself from head to toe. Every inch! lol! It like I don’t get all the soap off or something if I don’t. Never realized it! OOh! Wait!! The VERY last thing I do is from top to bottom, rinse off all the walls!! First me, then the walls. OOH! Then I do my feet again! LOL! I think I need help…
Love ya girlie. Keep inspiring!

I JUST posted this on FB today: “Does anyone really IRON their sheets before making their bed?” And speaking of ironing….do people actually iron their underwear? I’ve heard this and realize there must be someone doing it or else it “wouldn’t be out there”.

Mesha-I don’t hold my stomach in, but I sometimes hold my belly when people are looking at me and trying to figure out if I am pregnant or not-It throws them off. I guess it is time to lose my “Having Babies Fat.”
Tisha-I don’t iron, but I used to. I did iron sheets a few times and they felt so nice when they were on the bed. Those were the days.
Julie-I do the milk thing, too.
Why does organic milk smell like manure?
