Lunch Exchange Program
I am sooooo excited today! I along with my mom, my sister Stephanie and my sister Karri started (what I like to call) the Lunch Exchange Program. Each one of us made a healthy meal and exchanged a serving with each other. I think the key to staying on track with your weight loss is to plan ahead and be prepared. I now have a weeks worth of healthy lunches packed and ready to go in my fridge. All the recipes are different, homemade and I know the calorie count.
In the past I would often find myself in a food rut. I would put the same old meals on a rotation and keep eating them over and over again. Since the Biggest Loser I have been getting very adventurous with my food and this has helped in adding a good variety into my rotation. I also think that tasting other peoples recipes helps A LOT! Within the last 2 months or so I have added 3 new meals into my rotation due solely to tasting someone elses cooking.
Give it a taste! Try exchanging healthy meals with your family and friends. You may be surprised at how much it can help you stay on track.

That sounds exciting!
I hate getting in “food ruts” too. I hope it works out well for you guys!

Hi Kristin. I totally agree, food ruts suck, and being prepared helps a great deal. Unfortunately, I got sick at the end of August, finally had corrective surgery on Oct 22nd, and am now eating less than I have in the last 6 months. I am trying to make the conscious choice to pick smarter, healthier foods. I don’t eat nearly as much junk, and have permenantly given up chocolate candy as it is NO LONGER good for my digestive healthy (never was beforehand but, now I really have to becareful). I probably have the time to plan things like you do but, I just don’t have the desire. I sort of like to see how I feel when I get up and if I make something for lunch great, sometimes I might buy but, very infrequently. As a result of my surgery, I now find myself without any direction. Sometime this week I am going to my gym’s nutritionist to see what changes I can make. I am not sure of what to expect, never been to a nutritionist before.
Glad that you, your mom, and family are doing so well. Best on luck and continued success!!
Regards
Lauren

My family and I do this too, in a way. But instead of premaking lunches for a week, we take turns cooking dinner for the rest. We live in the same apartment buidling, so we just trade off. Usually we do it every other night, or every two nights. It is so nice to get the break from cooking, and getting to try new foods. And it is so nice always knowing how many calories are in our meals! And I agree.. please DO post recipes! I am always looking for new ones!
